Silveus Insurance Group Inc. Supports Maintenance of Hope’s Harbor at the Lutheran Campus House

FORT WAYNE, IN – Hope’s Harbor is an independent nonprofit organization providing hospitality services to families of children receiving medical care at area hospitals. The organization relies on the generosity and support of local volunteers and community sponsors.

Beginning in 2021, Silveus Insurance Group has sponsored hospitality room 3 at the Lutheran Campus House of Hope’s Harbor. Sponsoring a room at Hope’s Harbor positively impacts the lives of families in need. Families are not required to pay during their stay, therefore these sponsorships are crucial in offsetting the guest room operating fees. The commitment from Room Sponsors makes hope possible for families enduring a challenging time, the illness or injury of a child. In 2022, room 3 provided a safe place of respite for 96 individuals with a hospitalized loved one for a total of 257 nights. Overall in 2022, Hope’s Harbor welcomed 1,072 individuals for over 3,500 nights of comfort.

In addition to their Room Sponsorship, Silveus Insurance Group supports families of Hope’s Harbor by volunteering their time to prepare meals and completing house maintenance needs. In the fall of 2022, the maintenance team from Silveus volunteered their time and talents to repair the back deck at the Lutheran Campus House. Following these repairs, they began repainting the large deck in May and completed this project in June of 2023. Families can relax outdoors on the refreshed deck to take a break from the stress of their days at the hospital.

“While on a tour of the Lutheran Campus House after their room sponsorship renewal in 2022, the Silveus team recognized a need for some repairs on our back deck and immediately offered to help with this project. Justin and Brian from the Silveus maintenance team began repairing parts of the deck last fall, and several more members of their team completed the repainting job this June. Most maintenance work and projects around our homes are completed by volunteers. Hope’s Harbor is grateful for Silveus Insurance Group and their partnership in advancing our mission to provide a comforting, home-like space for our families”, says Wendy Hoering, Executive Director of Hope’s Harbor.
