Hope’s Harbor and Turnstone Partner to Support Pediatric Therapy Intensives

FORT WAYNE, IN – Hope’s Harbor Family Hospitality Homes and Turnstone are proud to partner to provide essential accommodations and support for families participating in Turnstone’s new Pediatric Therapy Intensives. This collaboration ensures that families traveling to Fort Wayne for these specialized therapy services can focus entirely on their child’s progress, free from the stress of finding and affording housing.

Turnstone’s Pediatric Therapy Intensives are designed to help children with developmental, neurological, or physical challenges achieve their full potential through focused, individualized therapy plans. These short-term programs combine various advanced techniques, including Dynamic Movement Interventions, the TheraSuit Method, Universal Exercise Unit, Total Motion Release (TMR), and Aquatic Therapy, to accelerate progress in motor skills, communication, and functional independence for children aged 0-10.

Hope’s Harbor extends its mission to these families by offering more than just a place to stay. Families will have access to private rooms that accommodate the entire family, creating a supportive environment during a critical time. Hope’s Harbor also provides communal spaces, including playrooms for siblings, living areas to unwind, and fully stocked kitchens, ensuring families have a comforting place to spend time outside of therapy hours.

Additionally, Hope’s Harbor goes above and beyond by providing donated food and welcoming meal volunteers who prepare home-cooked meals in the commercial kitchen. This thoughtful support relieves families from the pressures of meal preparation, allowing them to rest and recharge while focusing on their child’s therapy progress.

“We are honored to partner with Turnstone to make their Pediatric Therapy Intensives more accessible to families,” said Wendy Hoering, Executive Director of Hope’s Harbor. “We understand that traveling for a child’s medical care often brings numerous challenges—logistical, financial, and emotional. By providing accommodations, meals, and a welcoming space to call home, we strive to ease the journey for families as they support their children through the demands of intensive therapy.”

Turnstone’s Pediatric Therapy Intensives offer a transformative opportunity for children with unique challenges to make rapid developmental strides. With the partnership of Hope’s Harbor, families can embrace this opportunity with peace of mind, knowing their needs for housing, meals, and family-friendly spaces are fully met.

“Turnstone’s therapy team is committed to providing children with the highest quality therapy services to help them reach their full potential,” said Emily White, Director of Therapy at Turnstone. “Our missions complement each other perfectly—while Turnstone provides life-changing therapy to help children grow and thrive, Hope’s Harbor ensures families have a comforting place to stay, rest, and recharge. Together, we are making it possible for families to focus entirely on their child’s progress, free from the stress of travel and lodging.”

Pediatric therapy intensives are a sought-after opportunity for families looking to maximize their child’s progress in a short time. Sessions provide highly focused, individualized therapy for children aged 0-10 with developmental, neurological, or physical challenges, leveraging neuroplasticity to accelerate progress in motor skills, communication, and independence. At Turnstone, combining therapies such as Dynamic Movement Interventions, TheraSuit Method, Universal Exercise Unit, Total Motion Release, and Aquatic Therapy, each child receives a tailored plan with therapy sessions running Monday through Thursday. Families are also encouraged to utilize the warm water pool for recovery, and an adaptive sports demo introduces recreational opportunities. Registrations for 2025 summer sessions are limited and include a 1-week cycle (June 23-26), a 2-week cycle (June 2-12), and a 3-week cycle (July 7-24), with four hours of therapy daily.
